About Alexander

Award winning Irish musician Alexander Mathias has been playing, writing and producing music for over 20 years. Since graduating as a scholar from Berklee College of Music in 2006 he has gone on to perform around the globe as a freelance saxophonist playing with the likes of Amy Winehouse, The Commitments, Mary Coughlin, Shane MacGowan and many more, leading him to perform in a huge variety of styles. He moved to LA in 2015 and is currently performing and writing with the ska punk band Save Ferris as well as various other jazz, blues, funk, rock and pop groups.

As a highly skilled multi-instrumentalist (saxophones, clarinet, flute, tin whistle, piano, bass, guitar and vocals), Mathias performs and programs everything on his original music and has written, produced and recorded over 1000 songs and compositions. You can listen to a selection of this music in the soundcloud players above, all of which is entirely written, performed, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Alexander.

Mathias currently works out of his home studio in Los Angeles, CA, writing and recording music everyday. He creates a wide range of styles, providing music for Film, TV, Ads and other media. Mathias continues to study and listen to current music, constantly learning and adapting his production skills to meet the needs of his clients. Alexander can also provide you with horn arrangements for your project, which he can record and mix from his home studio at competitive prices.
